5.1 Macbook

I have the newest macbook pro and I want to hook it up to a 5.1 surround sound system, what all do I need?
I have the newest macbook pro available (15 inches). I'm looking at a 5.1 surround sound system, probably a logitech but if you have any suggestions feel free to leave them, but I don't know what all I will need to hook it all up. This will be for my dorm room. Also, I'd like the system to work with my XBOX 360 and my hd tv and my ipod touch, what is the best configuration for all of this???
Could you please recommend the cables needed? (name, where to get them, what sizes, etc.)
MacBook Pro's have built in SPDIF ports which is fiber optic audio. It should be on the back right hand side of the base. Just get a fiber optic cable and plug it in directly to your Pro and hook it straight up to whatever electronic device you decide to use. It will work just like a regular audio cable except fiber will carry all six audio channels. Voila, you should be good. I do this from my desktop machine to a Sony home theater system.
